QUESTION ~ What is the teeth whitening process?

ANSWER ~ Teeth Whitening is a bleaching process that lightens discolorations of tooth enamel. Dental bleaching systems use an effective whitening solution retained in a custom-fitted mouthpiece that is worn over your teeth for 1-4 hours per day, or even overnight. Many people notice an immediate whitening of their teeth within a few hours of bleaching, but it usually takes between 20 - 40 hours of cumulative bleaching time to complete the whitening process (This is true for all at-home dental bleaching systems, no matter who the manufacturer). You can break your hours into just a few days (for people who are in a hurry) or a few months (for people who are not). Professional strength whitening gel formulated with 22% carbamide peroxide is the most widely used and most desirable active ingredient in effective dental bleaches.

QUESTION ~ How do your whitening Systems remove stains?

ANSWER ~ Teeth Whitening Gel removes most stains with a gentle action that whitens your teeth. As the active ingredient in the gel (carbamide peroxide) is broken down and oxygen acts upon the stained organic deposits, which oxidizes them into a white color. This process makes the overall tooth color closer to its natural unstained color. Your tooth structure remains unchanged. Years of clinical tests have demonstrated the safety and effectiveness of this system. Over 95% of people treated achieve some level of tooth whitening. Crowns, bridges, bondings, and fillings do not lighten with dental bleaching systems.

QUESTION ~ How do I get started?

ANSWER ~ An impression of your teeth will be made by you at home with our easy-to-use system. You mail these back to us in the postage paid envelope we provide. Our lab technicians then promptly make a custom mouth tray from the impressions of your teeth. The trays are completed by our dental technicians within 1-3 days of receipt. You then apply our whitening gel inside the mouthpiece and place the mouthpiece over your teeth. You may wear the mouthpieces beginning in increments of 30 minutes at a time.  Feel free to up your wearing time if you experience no sensitivity. Most people see quick results after only a few hours of bleaching time.

QUESTION ~ What is included in the systems?

You will receive our complete SuperNova Professional Teeth Whitening System. Complete the easy to follow, instructions on making the impressions for your custom fitted trays. You return these impressions in the pre-addressed stamped envelope back to us and then we will process your impression trays in the order we receive them. Just like we would do for our dentists, and mail them back to you at no additional cost. Unlike other procedures that offer questionable results at high prices and often require on-going maintenance, NovaWhite is affordable. You will save money and obtain the most advanced system in whitening today.

QUESTION ~ How much whitening gel do use for each treatment?

You use a drop of gel approximately the size of a pin head in each tooth impression in your trays. Each system comes with enough gel for the initial whitening of your teeth and monthly touch ups.

QUESTION ~ What is a whitening tray and how does it work?

It is an inconspicuous appliance that is designed to hold the whitening gel in place and fits comfortably over the teeth. Custom-fitted trays optimize the whitening process by keeping the gel in contact with the teeth. Our custom fitted trays are very thin and very clear, made to fit your teeth exactly.

QUESTION ~ How important are the custom made bleaching trays?

Very Important. Having a tray that fits snuggly on your teeth is essential to assure proper bleaching and consistent results.

Difference between strips and bleaching trays

I already have a set of moldable mouthpieces. Can I purchase just the whitening gel?

ANSWER ~ Yes, we sell our Hi-Intensity, professional Carbamide Peroxide whitening gel applicators in quantities of 4, 8, and 12. This is the same whitening gel that is sold in our complete systems and professional dental offices. It can be used with any dental tray in the same way as your previous whitening gel.

QUESTION ~  Are there any risks involved?

ANSWER~  Always check with your dentist before using any at home teeth whitening products.  Use at your own risk.  Do not use if you are pregnant or lactating.  Do not use if periodontal disease or other medical conditions exist in the mouth.  Do not use if you have a history of allergic reactions to peroxide products.  IF you experience tooth sensitivity or mild tissue irritation is possible but usually transient and may last for a day or two.  Avoid beverages that contain citrus and hot and cold drinks for the next 24 hours.  If you have any adverse reactions terminate treatment and consult your health professional.
